What Can I Expect From My Free Quote?

You can schedule an appointment to get a free quote at any time. Tanner will come to your home, measure all the necessary areas, and create a comprehensive material list. This list covers everything needed to complete the job, including furniture removal or storage, and gives you a precise, "to the penny" price for the floors you’ve selected.

Once you approve the quote, we'll order the exact materials for your job. As a custom-order business, we don't have a warehouse full of pre-stocked materials. Our dedicated install teams, who have been with us for over 20 years, will handle your project from start to finish. They'll pick up the materials, deliver them to your home, and perform the demolition and installation.

What Types of Flooring Does Clark's Carry?

Clark's Flooring provides a wide variety of surface options to meet your needs. We carry large and small-scale tile for custom showers, backsplashes, and other areas in your home. We also offer carpet, Luxury Vinyl Plank (LVP), and Luxury Vinyl Tile (LVT).

For hardwood options, we have pre-finished engineered wood, which comes in a specific color straight out of the box. If you prefer a more custom look, we also provide unfinished natural wood that can be stained and finished to your exact specifications. This also gives you the flexibility to change the stain color down the road.

What can I Expect When I Choose Clark's?

We can handle as much or as little of your project as you need. While some homeowners prefer to move their own furniture or paint their own trim, we offer a range of services to make your life easier.

In addition to installing your flooring, we can also take care of your baseboards and shoe molding. If the job creates a mess, we can send in a professional cleaning company right after we finish. We can also handle furniture moving and even arrange for a mobile storage container to hold your belongings during the project.

We've even had customers go on vacation and come back to a completely transformed home, with all the new flooring installed and the furniture put back in place. We're here to make your project as stress-free as possible.

What Should You Know When Shopping for LVP (Luxury Vinyl Plank)?

When shopping for luxury vinyl plank (LVP), you'll often hear about a single measurement: the "mil" thickness. This refers to the thickness of the wear layer, or the top protective veneer. This wear layer typically ranges from 12 mil to 30 mil. The thicker the wear layer, the more scratch-resistant and durable the floor will be.

Think of it like a car's clear coat. A car with more clear coats will look good and last longer. The same principle applies to LVP. All products are not created equal, so it's important to understand what to look for. We'd be happy to give you a short lesson in our showroom on what makes a quality LVP and what to avoid.

LVP vs LVT.jpg

What's the Difference between LVP & LVT?

The key difference between LVP (Luxury Vinyl Plank) and LVT (Luxury Vinyl Tile) is their shape—one is a plank and the other is a tile. Both are types of luxury vinyl and are essentially the same product.

These are both floating, waterproof floors. They are manufactured identically, so the installation process is the same. When we say waterproof, we mean they can withstand surface water and spills without buckling or swelling. If a flood or a serious leak occurs, the floor would need to be removed to prevent mold and mildew.

The main price differences are determined by two factors: the wear layer (a protective clear coat that determines scratch resistance and longevity) and the plank size.

LVP vs Hardwood?

Choosing between luxury vinyl plank (LVP) and hardwood depends on your lifestyle. LVP is a vinyl product, while hardwood is made from actual wood.

LVP is typically more affordable, with lower material and labor costs. Since it’s a floating floor, it doesn’t require any glue or nails. It's an excellent option for homes with kids or pets due to its durability.

Hardwood floors, on the other hand, offer a higher return on investment by adding significant value to your home. Hardwood is a timeless, lifelong floor that provides a warm and classic feel.

No matter which option you're considering, we can provide a detailed, "to the penny" price quote for your job.

Should I Sand & Refinish My Existing Hardwood Floors?

A sand and refinish can transform the floors in any home, whether it's new construction or a 70-year-old house. We'll sand the floor down to the raw wood, removing all imperfections like scratches and dents. This gives us a clean slate to work with.

From there, you can choose a premixed color or we can custom-tint a stain to create the exact look you want. We can also seamlessly integrate new solid wood into an existing floor plan, such as adding new wood to a kitchen to match the older wood in a living room. We will source new wood of the correct width, thickness, and species, install it, and site-finish it to match your existing floor.

In cases of isolated damage from water or pets, we can often replace the affected boards. This is a more complex job, but it is often possible. We would need to inspect the area to determine the best course of action, but you do have options.

Does Clark's Work with Tile?

We have a vast selection of tile for any project, including floor, large-scale wall, and decorative tiles for kitchen backsplashes, laundry rooms, or bathrooms. We even offer wood-look tiles. If you’re interested in a specific style or need help designing a bathroom or kitchen, visit our showroom to see all of our options.

What are the Differences Between Pre-Finished & Unfinished Hardwood?

The main difference between these two types of hardwood floors is how the final look is achieved.

Pre-finished hardwood is a factory-finished product that comes in thousands of predetermined colors. You choose from an existing color, and the floor is installed as is.

Unfinished hardwood comes to us as raw wood. This gives you a blank canvas. We can apply a clear coat for a natural wood look or custom-tint a stain to create any color you can imagine.

Not all pre-finished engineered floors are created equal. The thickness of the veneer is a key difference. A thicker veneer gives you the option to sand and refinish the floor one or two times over its lifespan, extending its life. A thinner, more cost-conscious veneer is what you see is what you get, and once it wears out, there is no option to refinish.
